Huang Rui is one of the important artists that represent Chinese contemporary art. He covers diverse genres of the art like painting, installation and performance. He led Chinese contemporary art campaigns and he is the founder of 798 Art District at an industrial area in Beijing.
<Daily Attitude> is a performance artwork that occurred under “normal” circumstances. Political figures and events, social issues, and economic flows are all popular symbols unrelated to the daily lives of the individual, but we cannot escape them being hung on each of our bodies.
<In Search of Trigrams>: In modern daily life, we lost poetry, literature, history and ancient wisdom. What can we do? Search for it. This time we are going to have 7 volunteers along with Huang Rui in Search of Trigrams. Huang Rui is neither a guru nor a psychic, but he passed on 8 trigrams from the Book of Changes to me. These trigrams represent the place of humanity in nature. Can we find them in our memory and imagination with nature’s help?
<798 GENESIS>: Huang Rui, as the founder of 798 Art District at an industrial area in Beijing made video work about a process of making 798 Art District and the history of the area.
