We Change Each Other' inscribed into stone in six languages follows a continuing element of Shilpa Gupta's artistic practice where elements by their juxtaposition create dialectic in the way we understand an increasingly polarising world. The work stands broken to signify the inevitable mutation and dispersion that follows when two beings or cultures come into contact with each other. As always, the artist whose works lay bare the limitations of borderlines, and who pushes the boundaries of the spaces her work traverses, be it in the gallery or on the streets, in a simple gesture, invites the viewer to take away a fragment of the work away.
